Epic 3: Part 3
I'm back expanding again now I've got Louis safely contained. I don't want Roosevelt to get the idea there's lots of land here to claim for his American Empire. I'm also still working on building up an army - mostly Axemen, but a few Swordsmen and a few Crossbowmen. The V cities are founded during this time period:
But inevitably this time of peace & prosperity had to come to an end:
And it briefly looked like disaster had struck:
But only very briefly, as I'd taken the city back by the end of the turn:
By 1604AD Louis is regretting getting started - he sues for peace, but I'd really rather have at least one of his cities before I stop, after all I wouldn't want him to think I'm a pushover ;) So a few turns later:
And I sue for peace again. I get some gold, but nothing exciting. I start to think about maybe going back once I've got Musketmen, but then this happens:
So I don't think I really need to worry about the French unless I want to worry about the French. In 1703AD I discover Gunpowder & enter the Renaissance. I'm guessing I'm not doing that well on tech compared to other human players as I'm keeping pretty close to 'reality' ;) I finally meet my last rival in 1764AD:
She's annoyed with me already - but after a little while that gradually started getting better.
I entered another expansion period, my final one - but just missed getting that peninsula to the NW of Chartres, the Americans moved in & settled a city just before I did. Still, I got another 4 cities on my landmass:
I discovered Rifling in 1818AD, and immediately started Cuzco & Machu Picchu making Riflemen - the first ones went to the French border, just to make sure Louis didn't get any ideas. My next research goal was Mass Media - for the United Nations. Along the way I entered the Industrial Era with the discovery of Scientific Method in 1841AD. In 1873AD I discover Electricity, which clearly gets Hatty all excited as she tries to demand it from me. I refuse her impetuous demands, but sell it to her anyway:
Some people are just too easy to fleece ;) And finally in 1885AD I hit the final score point before game end:
