She talked about the castle&#8217;s first owners &#038; builders, and the meanings of the decor &#038; architecture. Only Worsley would match her gloves to the details on the castle \ud83d\ude09 A tad amateur in feel (I think this series often is), but rather good.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ninecats.org\/margaret\/blog\/2014\/09\/26\/operation-stonehenge-what-lies-beneath-british-great-war\">Britain&#8217;s Great War<\/a> &#8211; Jeremy Paxman looking at what happened in Britain during WWI.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ninecats.org\/margaret\/blog\/2014\/09\/12\/egypts-lost-queens-talk-animals-john-bishops-australia\">Egypt&#8217;s Lost Queens<\/a> &#8211; Joann Fletcher talking about Hetepheres, Hatshepsut, Nefertari and Arsinoe.<\/p>\n<p>Harlots, Housewives and Heroines: A 17th Century History for Girls &#8211; Lucy Worsley talking about late 17th Century British women.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ninecats.org\/margaret\/blog\/2014\/09\/12\/egypts-lost-queens-talk-animals-john-bishops-australia\">John Bishop&#8217;s Australia<\/a> &#8211; comedian cycles along the east coast of Australia 22 years after he first made the trip.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ninecats.org\/margaret\/blog\/2014\/09\/05\/lost-land-tiger-out-egypt\">Lost Land of the Tiger<\/a> &#8211; three part series about looking for tigers in Bhutan.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ninecats.org\/margaret\/blog\/2014\/09\/26\/operation-stonehenge-what-lies-beneath-british-great-war\">Operation Stonehenge: What Lies Beneath<\/a> &#8211; two part series looking at the wider Stonehenge site and using modern non-invasive techniques to survey the area.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ninecats.org\/margaret\/blog\/2014\/09\/05\/lost-land-tiger-out-egypt\">Out of Egypt<\/a> &#8211; series presented by Kara Cooney looking at similarities and dissimilarities between a variety of ancient (and slightly less ancient) cultures using Ancient Egypt as her jumping off point.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ninecats.org\/margaret\/blog\/2014\/09\/19\/real-noahs-ark-tropic-capricorn\">The Real Noah&#8217;s Ark<\/a> &#8211; part of the Secret History series, programme about a pre-Bible Akkadian Flood myth and the building of a replica ark based on the description in that.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ninecats.org\/margaret\/blog\/2014\/09\/12\/egypts-lost-queens-talk-animals-john-bishops-australia\">Talk to the Animals<\/a> &#8211; Lucy Cooke does a survey of animal communication.<\/p>\n<p>Treasures Decoded &#8211; Channel 4 series looking at puzzles and potential solutions around some well known archaeological sites or artifacts.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ninecats.org\/margaret\/blog\/2014\/09\/19\/real-noahs-ark-tropic-capricorn\">Tropic of Capricorn<\/a> &#8211; Simon Reeve travels round the world following the Tropic of Capricorn.<\/p>\n<p>Wild China &#8211; series about Chinese wildlife &#038; people.<\/p>\n<p><b>Total:<\/b> 14<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is an index and summary of the things I&#8217;ve talked about over the last month.
