So while we were up north for the bank holiday weekend we went to find some caches.<\/p>\n<h3>Day 1<\/h3>\n<div class=\"flickr\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ninecats.org\/margaret\/lj\/20120912\/day1.jpg\" alt=\"map for geocaching day 1\" \/><\/div>\n<p>We picked up two caches on our first trip out &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geocaching.com\/seek\/cache_details.aspx?guid=c736e680-9f96-4707-bf40-e8a1295d18b7\">&#8220;Stonehinge&#8221;<\/a> &#038; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geocaching.com\/seek\/cache_details.aspx?guid=2db461aa-46df-4a3e-bcc1-77f0397cca7e\">&#8220;Snow White&#8221;<\/a>, both of which are in Shildon Woods to the north of Blanchland.<\/p>\n<div class=\"flickr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/plingthepenguin\/7979670291\/\" title=\"Noah is Not Entirely Convinced by plingthepenguin, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8176\/7979670291_028b9b6c24_m.jpg\" width=\"159\" height=\"240\" alt=\"Noah is Not Entirely Convinced\"><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/plingthepenguin\/7979669458\/\" title=\"I Think It&#39;s This Way? by plingthepenguin, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8310\/7979669458_9b4e2b6003_m.jpg\" width=\"240\" height=\"159\" alt=\"I Think It&#39;s This Way?\"><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/plingthepenguin\/7979668352\/\" title=\"Found It! by plingthepenguin, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8172\/7979668352_c4d270521c_m.jpg\" width=\"159\" height=\"240\" alt=\"Found It!\"><\/a><\/div>\n<p>After lunch we then headed out for another two, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geocaching.com\/seek\/cache_details.aspx?guid=18c7c474-7ea8-44a5-bcf9-00ebc9486f8b\">&#8220;Baybridge Beans&#8221;<\/a> &#038; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geocaching.com\/seek\/cache_details.aspx?guid=0ae5db8b-a310-401e-94c5-c95f1f7a42d3\">&#8220;Faerie Glen&#8221;<\/a>, which are to the southwest of Blanchland.  It was threatening rain, so I didn&#8217;t take my camera &#8211; just well, because it started to rain when we were about a quarter of the way round the walk and we ended up completely and utterly soaked!  Well, all of us except for Noah who had his own little roof (on the carry thingy).<\/p>\n<h3>Day 2<\/h3>\n<div class=\"flickr\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ninecats.org\/margaret\/lj\/20120912\/day2.jpg\" alt=\"map for geocaching day 2\" \/><\/div>\n<p>The weather the next day was also pretty miserable, so we drove to 4 round the edges of Derwent Reservoir &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geocaching.com\/seek\/cache_details.aspx?guid=043de7f6-4839-4489-8de9-ee721b15e6ce\">&#8220;Sheep Rabbits &#038; Water&#8221;<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geocaching.com\/seek\/cache_details.aspx?guid=b3e1bee6-9bbc-4d3b-92e9-7798492fe914\">&#8220;Tree-mendous&#8221;<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geocaching.com\/seek\/cache_details.aspx?guid=395c2532-bedc-4fe2-932b-8dc0027787ce\">&#8220;Cache Hill Stream&#8221;<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geocaching.com\/seek\/cache_details.aspx?guid=07ca05bc-f9e7-4159-a886-e1fd6cddf93d\">&#8220;Sheila&#8217;s Tree Cache&#8221;<\/a> (the latter two being in the same rough area).  Obviously we drove round, rather than through, the reservoir despite what Google Latitude seems to think we did.<\/p>\n<h3>Day 3<\/h3>\n<div class=\"flickr\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ninecats.org\/margaret\/lj\/20120912\/day3.jpg\" alt=\"map for geocaching day 3\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Jo, Chris &#038; Noah went home the next day, but J and I did another batch of caches once they&#8217;d gone.  First we headed to Hexham, picking up <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geocaching.com\/seek\/cache_details.aspx?guid=a6dd928f-1995-4d1e-8703-4780ad90fb41\">&#8220;The Hollybush &#8211; Jacobite Rising&#8221;<\/a> on the way.<\/p>\n<div class=\"flickr\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ninecats.org\/margaret\/lj\/20120912\/day3b.jpg\" alt=\"map for geocaching day 3, in Hexham\" \/><\/div>\n<p>And in Hexham itself we found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geocaching.com\/seek\/cache_details.aspx?guid=16a43352-41ed-4ad3-8385-60465d8d36d9\">&#8220;The Sele&#8221;<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geocaching.com\/seek\/cache_details.aspx?guid=f232f63c-ae81-4838-bf21-d0e8c7940500\">&#8220;Hexham House of Correction&#8221;<\/a>. Durham)&#8221;<\/a>.
