Monday 1 June 2026 to Sunday 14 June 2026

My asters arrived on Thursday 4 June 2026 just before we were unexpectedly away for the weekend, so sat in their pots for longer than I’d prefer but I got them in the ground on Friday 12 June 2026 and they seem to be doing OK. I had to look them up again to remind myself why I’d bought them – purple flowers & later in the season.

The rest of the garden is doing well, the apocalyptic rain/hail/thunderstorm on Tuesday 2 June 2026 didn’t destroy anything and the amount of rain over these two weeks meant it didn’t matter that I wasn’t around to water stuff all the time.

The alstroemeria has started flowering – it’s odd that J always says his favourite colour for flowers is blue but when I take him to a garden centre he gravitates towards the red & yellow ones.

I feel like I’m behind with my weeding & haven’t been deadheading things as assiduously as I should, it’s been a bit of a shit of a year so far so perhaps wasn’t the year to replace one of the flower beds wholesale. But these things happen. There are still flowers to admire.
