Not a week with much to do in the garden other than water it and admire how the plants are growing. The argyanthemums & osteospermums that hadn’t yet flowered have done so, I think I got the pink ones the wrong way round in last week’s list. The osteospermums have flowers that start off white & get pinker over time, which I quite like.
And the gaillardia has also started to flower.
Because it’s been so dry I’ve only lost one plant (one of the rudbeckias) to slugs, and hopefully everything’s grown enough now that they’ll survive any future onslaught (I think it supposed to rain a lot of next week).
I’ve been pulling out the bindweed each time I’m out in the garden as I see it, but I need to find time to pull out more of that other vine when it’s not raining next week. It’s mostly coming through the fence from next door so I can’t get it up by the roots.
The tomato plants have shot up, possibly even growing faster than the bindweed!
And the garden has been full of bees & hoverflies, which is nice to see.
