Got some more of those geraniums dug out, I think another session will probably do it, tho I do have to work out how to get the dead shrub out (I kept hoping it would magically come back, it has not).

The plants in the bed I replanted last year are coming along nicely. I’ll have to get quite a few annuals for this bed this year but I’m sort of hoping that some of these might spread over time and there’ll be less need to fill in the gaps. (Photo taken pre-tip trip.)

We also replaced our washing line – the old one finally gave up after 24 years of not bothering to bring it in when the weather was bad. Getting the new one installed was a bit of a bigger job then we’d hoped – in the end J levered up three of the paving slabs so we could dig a bit round the spike to get it out, then put the new spike in and fill in the dirt before putting slabs back down. Couldn’t just re-use the spike because see above about never moving it, the pole was stuck enough that it only came out once the whole thing was out of the ground.
