Carried on working down the left hand flowerbed at the back & tidied up the corner. The wooden edging is definitely gone on most of the bed, so I’ve got to work out if I care. And the plant on the corner which I’d put in a couple of years ago may’ve died, I pulled out the grass round where it should be carefully in case it’s just going to be late to sprout but I’m not hopeful.

I also pulled out some geraniums at the back of the bed where the tree used to be (we took out this tree nearly 20 years ago, but I still think of it like that). This turned out to be rather more than I expected, but the Japanese anemone that fills the bed will cover the gap quickly. I also pulled out some of that round where the hollyhocks are coming out so they hopefully don’t get smothered.

Managed to fit in a second go at the garden in the good weather on Thursday morning, and as well as mowing the lawn I cut back some of the honeysuckle round the window in the back lobby. And then started to dig out the right hand side of the bed, I think I got about a fifth of the geraniums out, so this is going to take a while. The edging has rotted on this side too.
