Started to tidy up the garden for the spring planting, quite early this year in the hopes that I can get the right hand side of the back flower bed cleared right out with out having to rush. Spent an hour weeding the left hand flowerbed and have it back to just the plants I intend to have there and have turned over the soil a bit (including filling in where an animal dug a hole in the back of the bed). Sadly I’ve either pulled up an aquilea while weeding or it died during last year. I’m not quite sure there’s a viable space in this bed any more tho if I trim back the sage at the right (off the edge of the photo) there may be.
The forsythia is beginning to bloom, and both cotoneasters have leaves coming through. The grass could really do with a cut but it’s been too wet this week, although it’s been dry a lot of the time during the day it has rained overnight more than once this week.
I’d intended next week to work more on the back garden, but looking at the front garden properly on Saturday (rather than just walking past) it needs rather a lot of care & attention. I’ve not picked the litter up in too long (it blows in off the street) and the bush on the right hand side of the window is in desperate need of a haircut.
