New Year 1360BC

I'm so upset *sob* I had nothing to give them *sob*

Wait. Let me start from the beginning. I set up house right there on that hill - there was everything. Shiny rocks to make into decorations, some fish to catch to make a starter and lamb for the main course. My plans were simple. Make boats to catch the fish, pastures for the sheep, mine the copper. And while I was looking for my family I'd start trying to get gifts for them. While the orphanage educated me well in the basics I was sadly lacking in knowledge of Mathematics, but as that underpins all knowledge of money I felt I really should make the effort to learn.

Things started so well, too. The social workers were great, they gave me maps, and money to help in my search for my family.

I've met 2 of them now, Uncle Mao looks a bit scary to be honest but Cousin Cyrus looks like a much nicer guy. I think Cyrus is the son of one of my aunts, certainly he's not met Uncle Mao yet. It's awfully confusing actually, but I'm sure it'll make sense once I get to know them all a bit better.

But then when Christmas came round I still had nothing to give them! I'd got the house decorated and dinner organised, and invited them into my domains, but they just didn't want to know without gifts. I'm so upset *sob*

Mao did pay me a visit earlier, I think he lives in the north somewhere.

And I know where Cyrus lives. It's so far away though.

But I'm expanding, I've scribbled where I think I'll set up new houses on that last picture. Up there in the north (hopefully near Mao) there're dyes for pretty clothes and incense to make my houses smell nice. And there's wheat for festive breads. There's more wheat (corn dollies might be a nice gift?) and horses to carry us all around to the north west. It's a shame the land here in my little peninsula is so crappy, but to look on the bright side there's lots of seafood as well as some nice juicy corn on the cob.

And there's the religion thing - one of my new slaves came babbling on about one G-d and no vowels and stuff.

All supersitious crap, but it does rather keep the slaves happy and working so I'll not stop them.

You know, I think I've managed to cheer myself up. Next Christmas will be better.
